Dreaming Ideas and Writing Information That Sells

Description

This is a fun and fast paced workshop. We all have ideas. Some are good, some great, while some are boring. There are ways to come up with ideas that have a better than average chance of selling. We will explore why some writers seem to sell more than others; market surveys that can help define ideas; how to write for niche markets, fine tune your submissions materials, manuscripts and articles; and how to market yourself as an expert in your field.

Session Outline

  • Dreaming Ideas
  • Determining What Sells
  • Writing Information that Sells
  • Identifying Your Niche
  • Writing Your Product
  • Queries, Proposals, Manuscripts, & Articles
  • Marketing Yourself and Your Information

Session Format

The session will utilize a PowerPoint presentation that takes the writer through the process of identifying ideas worth dreaming about and then transforming those ideas into saleable queries, proposals, manuscripts, articles and other products. Participants will receive materials showing samples of ideas that worked; worksheets to guide them through the stages of dreaming, writing, and marketing; and tips to writing effective product copy that will sell. The session can be tailored to fit an hour to an hour and a half.
