|
Deciding to Go to the Emergency Room There are certain situations when it is appropriate to go to the emergency room with your child. Some of these situations include 1. When you do not have a pediatrician and you think your child needs emergency medical care. 2. When you are on vacation or out of town and an emergency occurs. 3. When you are unsure how serious your childs illness or injury is and you cannot reach your pediatrician. 4. When there are life threatening emergencies such as seizures, breathing problems, unusually high fevers that will not break, unconsciousness or cannot be aroused, heavy bleeding, possible broken bones or dislocated joints, eye injuries, significant pain that cannot be resolved, and/or a head, neck or back injury. |
